Power and Expansion Selection  This section provides tools to calculate the CJ1 system current consumption total needed to select the power supply. When the number of modules or power requirements exceeds the capability of the power supplies available, I/O expansion racks solve the problem. If the number of modules per rack exceeds 10 or the current consumption is greater than the capacity of the power supply units, use the CPU and expansion rack configuration. Basic Configuration A CJ1 Series basic configuration consists of a CPU, Power Supply Unit, Basic I/O Modules, Special I/O Modules, CPU Bus Modules, and an End Cover. Add up the current consumption of all the modules and the CPU according to the formula on the following page and then select the Power Supply Unit right for the application.
